The people that work at the bank are nice. I just have a problem with the bank fees. At one time we had gone over with a bunch of small charges around $2-$10 and was charged close to $300 in bank fees! Really $300 in bank fees for going over by $50! this should be illigal. I have asked the bank to take over draft protection off my accound multiple times and i am always told that if they take off the overdraft protection they will still charge me the fee and will just not allow the money to be taken out. So I am forced to have this service on my account and even though I have a business account with the same bank they will not link the accounts. I have asked multiple times to have my accounts linked together so if one account goes over it takes from the others. We used to have our accounts set up this way but the bank no longer does this. I do not like the fact that even though they have an instant transfer it does not go through untill the next day. This makes it possible for the bank to charge enormous bank fees. I have thousands of dollars in the bank yes I am still charges fees because of the money coming out of the wrong account. I think it would be nice to have the instant transfer actually go through the same day. That way if an honest customer sees the account is going to go negative they actually have a fighting chance of depositing the money into the account. I would be happy with this bank if they did one of two things. Make the instant transfer instant or make it possible to link your bank account to another so when you over draft if you have another account it draws out of the other account.

The recent release of the records of the three major banks stating that they made 6 billion dollars on overdraft and ATM charges I believe that the Bank of New Hampshire is trying to compete. My wife had been a customer of Laconia Savings for many year and have recently closed her accounts with them due to the response to charges made on a credit card purchased which she tried to stop on the Saturday and the bank didn't make any response until the following Tuesday reversed the charges only to reinstate them a month later

Only problem I had is when I deposited money in their ATMs at two different BNH banks right at their bank , it took so long to credit my account and I couldn't use it til they did. Thought with it right there especially it would be counted that day or at the very least, the next day. If I would of known I wouldn't of put it in there and gone in or to drive thru.

Now they transferred her loan balance to a personal loan the statement was dated 1/15 postmarked 1/20 and received on 1/25 with a due date of 1/30 as we now reside in Florida. If it takes them 10 days to get it to her how do they expect to have it paid by 1/30. Especially as you can not pay on line unless you have a checking or savings account with THEM. Get into the 21st century.

Otherwise, is cool. And get to buy concert tickets early for being member!

Its usually a pretty good bank. I think the ppl are nice.

Bank of New Hampshire is a great place to bank and work!
